São Paulo, October 19, 2023 - Can DNA solve a heist case? The upcoming Netflix series "Criminal Code," set to premiere on November 14th, will showcase federal agents proving just that. Marking Netflix's first Brazilian crime series, the action-packed narrative, inspired by real crimes, is poised to captivate fans of the genre. The trailer for this massive production provides a glimpse into an unprecedented pursuit of the culprits behind a daring robbery at the Brazil-Paraguay border.

Following a spectacular heist at the headquarters of a private security company in Paraguay, federal agents from the Foz do Iguaçu police center initiate a complex investigation. Examining DNA samples, the agents discover a connection between this robbery and recent crimes in a neighboring country, unveiling a larger plan encompassing crime cases in both nations.

Starring Maeve Jinkings, Rômulo Braga, Thomás Aquino, and Pedro Caetano, the series brings to the screen high-level crimes committed in Brazil, intertwining them with police operations, action, special effects, and breathtaking scenes. The narrative explores a technologically advanced police force utilizing forensic science to solve intricate investigations, juxtaposed with sophisticated criminals planning heists, citywide sieges, multimillion-dollar investments, and operations requiring years of preparation.

Heitor Dhalia, the creator and showrunner of the series, commented, "'Criminal Code' sheds light on a different facet of Brazil's crime world by examining criminal activities in border regions, rarely explored in cinema. Inspired by a sophisticated cross-border heist turning into a conflict between two opposing forces, the story unfolds in South America, delving into other realms of organized crime."

Produced by Manoel Rangel and Egisto Betti, the eight-episode "Criminal Code" carries the signature of Heitor Dhalia and is developed by Paranoïd.
