Two Exciting Electric Crossovers Ready to Hit the Roads

At the recent E-Lion Day 2024, French automaker Peugeot announced that the highly anticipated E-408 and E-5008 models will make their debut this year. These zero-emission crossover vehicles will share the same platform used in the E-3008 model.

E-5008: A Bold Innovation

Although we have only had a glimpse of the new 5008 in prototype form, under heavy camouflage, we can expect to encounter a remarkable model, featuring seven seats. While specific details about the exterior design are scarce at the moment, Peugeot aims to break from tradition with this eye-catching crossover. The E-5008 with its three different power units will arrive in Europe in the second half of the year, followed shortly by its release in other countries.

E-3008: Power and Efficiency Combined

The E-3008 boasts a range of powerful engine options. The entry-level version is equipped with a 73 kWh battery, producing 213 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque. The "Long Range" variant, powered by a single electromotor and a 98 kWh battery, brings the power output to an impressive 231 horsepower. Sitting atop the lineup is the performance-oriented version, equipped with dual electromotors, all-wheel drive, and producing an exhilarating 326 horsepower and 510 Nm of torque. However, it is worth noting that the high-performance model will feature the 73 kWh battery.

E-408: Driving Innovation to New Heights

As for the E-408, the specifics are a bit more mysterious. Although it is expected to share the same powertrain as the E-3008 and even be manufactured on the same STLA Medium platform, this information has not yet been officially confirmed. Being a new addition to the Peugeot lineup, the E-408 is not expected to undergo significant design changes. This model will offer three different power outputs:

• 130 horsepower with a 1.2 PureTech petrol engine
• 180 horsepower with a PHEV model
• 225 horsepower with a PHEV model

It is important to note that the PHEV models, which are not available in our country, offer an impressive all-electric range of 64 kilometers.

In conclusion, Peugeot continues to solidify its position as a leading player in the electric vehicle market. With the introduction of the E-408 and E-5008, the automaker is further expanding its electrified crossover lineup. These models, equipped with powerful engines, advanced technologies, and a commitment to zero-emission driving, are set to revolutionize the industry. Stay tuned for more updates on their official release dates and further details.
