The Fastest AMG Model Ever Produced

An eagerly awaited moment has arrived for AMG enthusiasts who favor two-door cars. The AMG GT 63 S E Performance takes center stage as the culmination of years of development in hybrid technology by the brand, offering an impressive 816 horsepower with its 4.0-liter V8 engine. Despite its larger size compared to its predecessor, this new generation coupe manages to achieve the title of "Fastest AMG" by completing the 0-100 km/h acceleration in a mere 2.8 seconds. Its top speed reaches an impressive 320 km/h.

Beneath the hood, the internal combustion engine alone produces 612 horsepower, while the electric motor situated at the rear axle generates an additional 204 horsepower. With a hybrid power unit capable of delivering torque ranging from 1080 to 1420 Nm, the power is transferred to the wheels through a 9-speed automatic "Speedshift" transmission.

This vehicle may be technically classified as a PHEV, but Mercedes' goal is not to prioritize efficiency; it aims to provide even more performance. The 6.1 kWh capacity battery offers an "electric driving" range of just 13 km. Mercedes ensures power is always ready by keeping the battery at optimal temperature, catering to customers seeking exhilarating driving experiences. Charging can be done using various options, including plugging the car into a power outlet or utilizing the "single pedal mode."

The model offers 8 different driving modes: "Electric," "Battery Hold," " Comfort," "Smooth," "Sport," "Sport+," "RACE," and "Individual," allowing for adaptive suspensions and rear-axle steering, providing a comfortable driving experience.

The model comes equipped with 20-inch wheels and 420 mm carbon-ceramic brake discs, but it is also available with 21-inch wheels as an optional upgrade. Although Mercedes hasn't disclosed the weight of the new model featuring a 2+2 seating arrangement, its sibling, the SL, which shares the same power unit, weighed 2.2 tons. Hence, we can assume that the GT 63 S is also a considerably heavy model.

From a design perspective, it closely resembles the non-hybrid GT 63 S, but it differentiates itself with the "E Performance" emblems on the front fenders and the charging port located on the trunk lid. The pricing information for this model has not yet been revealed, but its four-door counterpart, the GT 63 S E Performance, is available in our country with a starting price of 20 million ₺.
